Matchbox
Eschborn
The high-rise office building is unique in Germany: the façade and roof are clad with photovoltaic modules that produce around 240,000 kWh annually, covering a significant proportion of the building’s energy requirements.
Heating and cooling are generated purely electrically by two heat pumps and two chillers. The design by Dietz Joppien Hammerschmidt combines sustainable technology with timeless aesthetics, while the interior focuses on minimalist elegance and sustainable materials for modern working environments. Depending on requirements, the column-free floors can be freely divided into open-plan offices or individual areas. The 10-storey Matchbox is fully let. The first rental areas were completed after a construction period of 13 months.
